Return & Cancellation Policy

How cancellations, hire periods, extensions, late returns and issues with hired equipment are handled.

Last updated: 15 August 2026

As Propagander provides prop hire services rather than selling products, this Return & Cancellation Policy differs from the return policies commonly used by retail businesses.

All props and hire equipment remain the property of Propagander throughout the hire period.

Hire Equipment

Propagander hires props and event equipment for an agreed hire period only.

As hire equipment is not sold, we do not accept returns for refund once the hire period has commenced or the equipment has been collected, delivered and/or installed.

Hire Period

The standard hire period is three (3) days unless otherwise agreed. The approved hire period will be specified on your invoice.

All hire equipment must be returned or available for collection at the agreed date, time and location unless an extension has been approved in writing by Propagander.

Hire Extensions

If you require additional time with your hired equipment, you must contact Propagander before the scheduled return or collection date.

Extensions are subject to availability and cannot be guaranteed, as many items are reserved for future bookings.

Where an extension is approved, additional hire charges will apply. Additional delivery, collection, transport, labour or administration charges may also apply where changes to the original booking require a revised collection schedule.

If hire equipment is not returned or available for collection at the agreed time and no extension has been approved, Propagander reserves the right to charge:

  • Additional hire fees for the extended hire period;
  • Additional delivery, collection, transport or labour charges;
  • A rebooking fee where an additional collection is required; and
  • Any reasonable costs incurred where the delayed return impacts another booking or scheduled delivery.

Booking Cancellations

All cancellations must be submitted in writing via email.

Deposits are non-refundable, non-transferable and cannot be applied to another booking.

Cancellation of a booking does not entitle the client to a refund of any deposit paid.

Changes to Bookings

Items may be removed from a confirmed booking up to four (4) weeks prior to the event unless otherwise approved by Propagander.

Additional hire items may be added to an existing booking at any time, subject to availability.

Damaged or Incorrect Items

If any hire equipment is damaged when collected or delivered, or does not match your booking, you must notify Propagander immediately and before the equipment is used.

Where reasonably possible, we will arrange a replacement or a suitable alternative.

Australian Consumer Law

Nothing in this policy excludes, restricts or modifies any rights or remedies that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.

Terms & Conditions of Hire

This Return & Cancellation Policy should be read together with the Propagander Terms & Conditions of Hire, which form the complete agreement between Propagander and the client.

Where there is any inconsistency between this policy and the Propagander Terms & Conditions of Hire, the Terms & Conditions of Hire will prevail.
